we have a solution
Power Correction for short term utility outages can be achieved from several angles.
If monitoring equipment is installed and it is determined that the outages are actually sub-cycle or a couple of cycles long, a few measures can be applied to correct them. All are different cost magnitudes and provide different benefits.
AVC with Ultracapacitors
Ultracapacitors will be the most expensive solution, but will provide a long term static solution with little attention or maintenance. This solution will provide a reliable runtime scnenario based on your outage requirements. Higher up front capital expense with low annual maintenance for 15-20 years.
AVC or Industrial UPS and Battery Solutions
A Voltage Correction solution with Batteries is an alternative option. This solution will perform in the same way as UC but will be a lower up front Capital Requirement. There is not a major amount of maintenance but annual maintenance for batteries. Typically a 10 year battery is provided that has a life of 7-10 years. This would be two capital requirements over 20 years for the batteries.
Long Runtime Solutions
For a longer runtime scenario where production must not be interrupted at all, cost is one of the two above scenarios with a generator system with an automatic transfer switch. This would provide for the 100% constant voltage sterilization via regulation, and also provide a long term runtime of power via the diesel or natural gas-powered generator.
Have an ICP site survey done to survey your facility and install a power metering device.
When you install equipment that will correct power and hold voltage within your facility, you will be providing your facility with protection against all outside influences of power. Halting wear and tear on other equipment in the facility by having stable voltage and power factor is the goal. The long term positives are lowered operations and maintenance costs by limiting voltage and amperage anomalies inside the facility. It is common to vet these issues by installing a monitoring device at the service entrance of the facility utility power. This is a low-cost method to really understand these issues and to make a proper diagnosis.
We are available to review electrical one-lines, Power Reports, Demand Usage, and any other data on your facility power.
